*perhaps* with a kernel update ? That's the kind of crucial information needed 
to find out what happen :-) Please check if your kernel has been updated, and 
if so, please report the original version and the current version.

Your webcam doesn't support MJPEG, which luvcview defaults to. Try luvcview -f 
yuv.

Has xawtv ever worked ? It requires a patch.

Do you get more messages in the kernel log after running all of the above 
programs ?
