Hi

It's really nice to see an updated libavcodec in Haiku.
I guess the MP3 and AC-3 decoders are redundant now, will they be
removed from the build (when tested that it works correctly)?

What's the status of different codec/format combinations, what works
and what remains to be tested/fixed? Can't wait to try a couple of
videos when I get time.
Have you tried Matroska with h.264 and AC-3?

How will the number of decoding threads be set? Based on number of
CPUs perhaps..

Another slightly related question, where/how should S/PDIF
pass-through (for AC-3 and DTS) be implemented to be supported on a
"system" level? A separate media plugin that encapsulates the stream
correctly, or some special case in the media server?

What about on-the-fly AC-3 encoding (from libavcodec) to support
surround sound to receivers for all applications. That would be a
killer feature for people with receivers.
